Previous Location The burial ground dates back to the 1200s and was expanded in the 17th and 19th centuries. It was closed to burials in 1854. There were approximately 58,000 burials recorded in the parish registers. It turned into a public garden in 1881. Today, it functions as a park with 
a children's playground.
